First of all, this cake was delicious. I had experienced it once already on the Baked book tour, and I even claimed it was the best frosting I'd ever had. I, however, could not make it come together in my kitchen. It was just one of those days. The caramel separated the first time, and it was downhill from there. But its still pretty tasty, despite the bumps in my road. Yum!

I love your photo! The cake is delicious, but the frosting was a bit temperamental (literally and figuratively) for me.
This is the 3rd time I've tried this frosting technique and think I only got it right once! It was so awful that I wasn't even able to make the Grasshopper Bars. I keep hoping to get it right!
But, I agree, the cake is delicious!
Glad you stuck with it to finish the cake! And so long as it's tasty, that's all that matters!
wasn't it delicious?! it was totally worth the effort for me!
YUP, my frosting was a disaster. I guess I'll just have to try it again. I did like the cake and the caramel...so with a re-do on the frosting, I should be able to say I can learn something from this experience.
