This blog is a culmination of two forever-bakers who have spent countless hours reading about, thinking about, and dreaming about baking delicious treats in our spare time. After taking a few cake decorating classes, our interest has soared to no end. While living and working in the same city has been a sweet treat in itself, a move across the state has spawned the desire to keep in touch by taking our love of baking and everything kitchen to the next level. So wipe your feet on the mat and stay awhile!

BBQ Ribs Dry Rub

I'd like to pretend that I had anything to do with the ribs in the picture, but this is really more of my husband's doing than mine. That's probably my favorite thing about bbq, I don't have to actually cook it....  How its enjoyable to sit outside in 100+ degree heat and watch smoke, I have no idea. But I am totally thankful that he will do it with a smile on his face while I sit in the A/C and watch Real Housewives of New Jersey.  This dry rub has a great flavor combination with just a kick of spice at the end.

BBQ Ribs Dry Rub

1 tsp. cumin
1 tbl. paprika
1 tbl. garlic powder
1 tbl. onion powder
1 tbl. chili powder
1 tbl. brown sugar
2 tbl. salt
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. white pepper

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.  Apply liberally to outside of ribs before grilling.  Store leftover seasonings in an air-tight container.
