This blog is a culmination of two forever-bakers who have spent countless hours reading about, thinking about, and dreaming about baking delicious treats in our spare time. After taking a few cake decorating classes, our interest has soared to no end. While living and working in the same city has been a sweet treat in itself, a move across the state has spawned the desire to keep in touch by taking our love of baking and everything kitchen to the next level. So wipe your feet on the mat and stay awhile!

Baked Sunday Mornings: Farm Stand Buttermilk Doughnuts

Well I hope you have a cup of coffee handy. You're going to need it. And by need it, I mean crave it. Its the perfect sidekick to this week's Baked recipe, Farm Stand Buttermilk Doughnuts. Surprisingly, these breakfast treats were a cinch to make. The only thing missing was a long conveyor belt that drops the doughnuts into the fryer oh so gently, ala Shipley's Donuts. If you don't have a Shipley's near you, I'm gravely sorry.

Since this recipe results in a cakey doughnut, I decided to go with the cinnamon-sugar topping. Its a personal favorite. These were really good just a few minutes out of the fryer. They weren't as great the second day though, so make sure you have a few people around to help you eat them.

Check out the Baked blog for the recipe!

Your post read my mind! Coffee? Check. Cinnamon Sugar? Check. Shipley's? Miss it much!

But now we can all make fresh doughnuts in our own kitchen. :)
